Happening Now: Angry Itsekiri Youths Move to Re-Open Sealed Hospital Where second Coronavirus case was first admitted


Itsekiri youths in Ugbori, Ekurode-Itsekiri  Community, Warri South LGA, Delta State, are currently gathered at The hospital where the second Coronavirus case was first admitted.

Our reporter who visited the clinic (Gifted Hand clinic) revealed that the area was rowdy and filled with youths protesting that Ekurede community should not be associates  with the Covid-19 pandemic. 

A community youth, Utuedon Yemi who spoke with FocalPoint Reports at the scene revealed that appropriate authorities must come to the community and give the correct information regarding the patients movement into a clinic operating in their community.

He warned that the community should not be associated with the second corona virus case.

He also disclosed that the hospital has been shutdown for 14 days pending when fumigation of the affected area is completed.

He further revealed the deceased patient left Central Hospital Warri to the private clinic.
However, FocalPoint Reports could not confirm if there was referral of such from central hospital to the private facility.

 With youths converging at the scene waiting for the Chairman of Warri South Local Government, Chairman Hon. Michael Tidi they were all angry saying that bad name is being given to their community.

Breaking: ASUU suspends 2-week warning strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has suspended its two-week warning strike it declared last week across all public universities in the country. The union announced the suspension on Wednesday at a press conference held at its headquarters in Abuja. President of ASUU, Chris Piwuna, who read a prepared speech before newsmen, explained that the development followed intervention by the Senate and some other well-meaning Nigerians. However, he sad the National Executive Council of the Union resolved to give the government a one-month window to address all contending areas.
