It's been a year. Yet the questions are still unanswered. Who ordered the killings at Lekki toll gate? Who spearheaded the ambush on the peaceful protesters? Who allowed the continual brutalization of the youths? Youths of the nation are still traumatized by the heartless manner their comrades were killed. The lives of the populace were threatened, yet the government has not made a concrete move to rectify the massacre. To publically bring the perpetrators to justice.

It was as though the armed men were shooting at the innocent citizens to get those the terrorists could not reach. What a mighty facade we live in. Where there is no value for the lives or future of the ones they claim to serve. Where the blood of the populace flows on the national flag.

However, all hope is not lost. The struggle in the nation is still on and will continue until a better tomorrow is attained.

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship.
