Police: Hit-and-Run Driver Killed Vanguard Reporter Tordue Salem The Nigerian Police Force  has said Tordue Henry Salem, the missing Vanguard reporter, was killed by a hit-and-run driver identified as Itoro Clement. The Force Public Relations Officer, CP Frank Mba, disclosed this on Friday while parading the driver that killed the reporter at the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) premises, Guzape, Abuja. EFCC detains former Edo governor Igbinedion over alleged N1.6bn fraud Lucky Igbinedion, a former governor of Edo state has been arrested and detained by officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Abuja. Igbinedion is currently being questioned by the officials of the anti-graft agency in its Abuja headquarters for allegedly diverting N1.6 billion meant for the public.  Igbinedion was also said to have used the diverted funds to settle the debt which the company had incurred in the past.  the spokesperson for the commission, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed that Igbinedion is currently with the EFCC.

NDLEA Captures Suspected Drug Traffickers, Destroy Hectares of Hard Drug Farm in Edo The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Edo Command on Thursday, said it arrested 20 suspects in connection with illicit drug trafficking. Mr Buba Wakawa, State Commander of the agency disclosed this in an interview with the reporters in Benin. Wakawa said the suspects who were arrested in October included 18 males and two females. He also told the reporters that suspected cannabis sativa farms measuring approximately 6.9 hectares were destroyed by the command within the period. Wakawa also disclosed that illicit drugs seized from the suspects included 2,390.854 kilograms of suspected cannabis sativa, as well as psychotropic substance. He further revealed that the command also secured 11 convictions within the same period, while 32 cases were still pending in court.
