JUST IN: Train Crushes Mother Child Crushed To Death In Delta

A train, plying the Itakpe – Warri railway, has crushed two persons identified simply as moi-moi seller and her child) to death in Aragba area of the community, Delta State.

The Union gathered that the incident occurred on Thursday at about 3:40pm. A sources said that, “the woman, a moi-moi seller and her daughter, a teenager, were walking on the rail tracks when the incident occurred.



Though details of the incident were still sketchy as of time of filing this report.

Sources also claim that, “on hearing the sound of the train, the daughter tried to get her mother out of the tracks, but was knocked down alongside the mother.


“The accident scene happened to be an elevated area of the rail way, which may be reason the victims could not escape the train.“The train was bound for the Ujevwu Train Station in Udu and scheduled to return to Itakpe in Kogi state this evening.”



Another source at the train station said that, “the train was yet to return as youths of the area had allegedly mobilized to the spot of the accident”.

When contacted for comments, the State acting Police Public Relations Officer PPRO, DSP Bright Edafe confirmed the incident saying. “Yes, it is true. It’s confirmed.”
