...Charges Governor Okowa to give Deltans more democratic dividends

An Ijaw-born peace and environmental rights activist, Comrade Mulade Sheriff has urged the State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to concentrate on good governance in the last lap of his administration, so that Deltans can enjoy more dividends of democracy before he leaves Office.

Chief Mulade, a Delta State governorship hopeful for 2023, gave the charge in Asaba the Delta State Capital while speaking with newsmen on Delta State at 30, and congratulated Deltans for the unity and peace in the State since its creation in 1991.

He charged Deltans to give maximum support to the government of Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa despite the fact that it is yet to meet the expectations of citizens in terms of socio-economic and infrastructural development, quality healthcare delivery, job creation and employment for youths and women, as well as environmental sustainability, amongst others.

Meanwhile, the 2023 governorship aspirant and the Ibe-Seremowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom has appealed to Deltans to support, cooperate and partner with security agencies in the State to create the enabling and conducive environment to attract investors into the State.

He said if given the mandate to govern the State come 2023, his Administration would bring positive change to the State for all Deltans irrespective of their political, religious and ethnic divides.

The monarch, who stated this when he received the Soun of Ogbomoso land, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III, in his Palace in Warri Kingdom, Delta State, said that the two institutions were not necessarily antithetical. He also debunked the assumption that traditional institutions were synonymous with fetishism and the worship of creations made by human beings and reasoning. He, however, noted that the two institutions can play complementary role that will contribute to the growth and development of the country. The Olu, who said he was elated by the Soun’s visit, said the new Ogbomoso monarch’s choice of Warri kingdom as his first place of visit was divinely directed, just as his choice for the throne was divinely ordained. To proof your doubt, take a tour to any of the ljaw riverine communities across Burutu, Warri South-West, Bomadi, Patani in Delta State, and Southern ljaw, Ekeremor, Nembe and Brass LGAs in Bayelsa State, you will discovered that most of our youths are facially disfigured in parts of their body as result of severe fire accident incurred during cooking and burning (refining) of crude oil to kerosene, fuel and desiel for
