Ovie of Ughelli launch PWAN Potters head office in Ughelli



Property World Africa Network, (PWAN) Group, a real estate organisation and owners of Celebrity City, Ogor, has officially launched one of its affiliate head office, PWAN Potters in Ughelli, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta state, during the weekend.

Speaking to journalists at the new office along popular Dumez road, Opposite First Bank, shortly after it was launched by the Ovie of Ughelli Kingdom, HRM Wilson Ojarkovo Oharisi III, Chairman of the group, Dr. Augustine Onwumere pointed that the vision of the organisation was to ensure that every Nigerian becomes a house owner, adding also that the group provides a platform to gainfully engage the youths thereby reducing youth restiveness in Ughelli and environs.

He said, "Our vision is to come and develope this place, that's why I believe this event to be an historic one and it is the beginning of a new dawn for the entire Ughelli North local government and environs.  

"One of the major challenge we face today is insecurity, which many experts both in government and outside government have attributed to the high unemployment rate in the country, and that has been one of our major area of focus, which is to address insecurity and youth restiveness through job creation, engaging the youths. This is why I will urge the youths to embrace this opportunity."

Speaking in the same vein, the Group Managing Director (GMD), PWAN Potters, Dr. Mrs Jayne Onwumere observed that, apart from providing opportunities for people to own their own house, the organisation also gives opportunity to people to earn a living for themselves. 

She said, "Nigeria today is trying to diversify, which is to tell you that the oil business is already failing, real estate is a business that gives opportunity to everyone both old and young and it is one of the fast growing business all over today. So we are simply saying people should be in real estate.

"We are here to help the people embrace a system that can pay them for life. Our operations is like an empowerment system. Currently we are in 16 states in Nigeria with over 30 affiliates. What we do is to give opportunity for people to partner with us, we train people, and that is why we have our seminar hall up there, equip them with the required knowledge and skill to succeed in this business.

"We also help both low and high income earners to acquire landed properties and even a home without stress through a programme that allows them make convenient installmental payments over a convenient period of time."

In his remarks, while officially opening the office, the Ovie of Ughelli, Wilson Ojarkovo Oharisi III, described the citing of PWAN Potters head office in Ughelli as a welcomed development, adding that as the paramount ruler of the kingdom he is a ready partner in progress and will continue to support whatever will bring development to his people. 

In their separate remarks, Classics Oteri and Okolo Christopher both Partners of the company commended the Ovie and people of Ughelli for embracing the company.

Dignitaries at the event includes the Ovie of Ughelli, Oharisi III, his wife Queen (Mrs) Oharisi, Chairman PWAN Edge, Dr. Philip Igbinijesu, MD PWAN Potters, Pst. Chuks Ebuagu, representative of the Ovie of Ogor Kingdom and Chief Morrison Olori among others.

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme.
