YOUR APPROACH TO GOVERNANCE, INVIDIOUS TO DELTANS. DELTA APC TELLS OKOWA.

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Delta State is worried over the recent invidious acts of PDP led Government of Delta State, under the watch of Governor Ifeanyi  Okowa. Some of this unholy acts are but not limited to employment racketeering in the civil service, desecration and feeding of Royal Stools in Delta State with political murky water.

Delta State APC, and Deltans remember vividly that because of settlement of political scores, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, after assumption of office in the year 2015, cancelled and/ or suspended the recruitment of Deltans into Delta State civil service, already concluded by his predecessor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan. No reasonable reason was given for that ill-thought decision.

Deltans could remember that during the 2019 electioneering, Dr. Okowa, due to fear of those he unjustly sacked in 2015, working against his coming back for second tenure, made a promise to reabsorb them into the State Civil Service. Recently, out of the over three thousand workers that were sacked by him, Delta State PDP led Government purportedly reabsorbed approximately four hundred persons only.

Meanwhile, inquiry shows that out of the almost  four hundred persons purportedly reabsorbed, more than half of the figures were new intakes, closely related to Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, his political associates and his groomed employment racketeers. Moreover, a particular group of people were the most favoured in total negation of Federal Character recognized by the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended. What a double-face governance!

From available information, Delta State has the highest monthly Federal allocations in this year 2019, besides ecological funds, internally generated revenues, and others sources of incomes. Painfully, there are no legacy projects to reflect the huge allocations. Due to the profligacy of PDP led Government of Delta State, unemployment is on the increase, thereby making some of our youth to resort to criminality and/ or anti-social behaviours.

In order to cover up his inadequacies, the Governor inveigled and did cow some of our Traditional Stools into hurriedly putting up an award ceremony for him and some members of his political family, thereby desecrating the age-long revered Traditional Institution!

It is preposterous that Governor Okowa was given an award and/ or declared the best in a race, he is yet to finish!

In the time past, traditional rulers were immuned from partisan politics. That is, they were fathers to all irrespective of political leaning. However, because of the dirty politics of PDP led Government of Delta State, some of the Traditional Rulers, for fear of been brandished anti-PDP, refused to allow other political office seekers into their Palaces and Kingdoms for supposed Royal blessings. What a political mortgage of the institution Deltans used to hold in high esteem!

APC wants to state unequivocally that no empire last forever. Delta State is not a vassal State of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, or political marauders! And it can never be.

We condemn in its entirety the recent sham, called " reabsorbing of sack civil servants of 2015", because it is a product of fraud oozing out to high heaven. Also, the various reactions of Deltans to the subjugation of our Royal Stools by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa speak volumes. It show that the little respect, if any that the Governor enjoys from Deltans had long left him.

PDP led Government in Delta State should be accountable to Deltans for once. Continuing in its maladministration must end forthwith, except the managers of the Party had sold their souls to mammons and spirits of greed.

To our Royal Fathers, learn to bear hunger at times. That is the only way you can recover your lost crown of honour. APC, Delta State will continue to uphold the traditional institution you are charged with.

PDP SHOULD KNOW THAT DELTANS ARE NOT READY TO ENTERTAIN ITS POLITICAL ABRACADABRA AGAIN.

Signed:

Barr. Ogheneluemu Sylvester Imonina,

Publicity Secretary, APC, Delta State.

23rd December, 2019.
