Tighten Security and Flush Out Militants from Ijaw Creeks...Delta State Government Tells Navy.




The Delta State government has given a mandate to the Nigerian Navy to tighten up Security and Flush out Militants from Ijaw Creeks, communities and Water Ways.

The mandate was given to the Military during the Week by the state government through the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Security, Comrade Daniel Ezekiel who visited the Delta State command headquarters of the Niger Navy, NNS Delta.



The SSA Comrade Daniel Ezekiel, During a meeting with the commander, Commodore I.A Dewoo who has just been promoted to the rank of a Rear Admiral cry out to the Navy, He Said, "Ijaws are under invasion by Militants, Our Women are being raped, we need a military operations in our Ijaw communities to flush out Militants".

However the Navy in their response said, " We are here to serve the people, apart from militancy, illegal oil bunkering are on the increase but we are working hard".

We chased pirates to Bbaregolor, in Ugheli South LGA, we recovered weapons, Outboard engines and handed them over to the appropriate agency. We are working hand in hand with other security agencies. We will carry our clearance operations, we need timely information to work successfully".

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship.
