 The Chief Executive Officer of LightWorld & Industries Nigeria, Ambassador Nwangwu Anthony Ejiofor on Tuesday put smiles on the faces of over 200 women and windows in Warri South, Uwvie and Udu local government area, Delta State.

Irrespective of their tribes states and local government area, at the company's office complex, in Warri Delta State.

FocalPoint reports that The gesture was part of his desire to give succor to less privileged ones in the society and a show of commitment  towards giving back to the society as part his cooperate social responsibility.

Dcn Anthony Ejiofor noted that the gifts to widows and other underprivileged persons across Delta State is one way he could put smiles on the faces of the women in the area.

 Bags of rice were shared among the women who trooped out in their numbers to receive the gifts and pray for Gods blessings on Ejiofor for putting smiles on the faces of the downtrodden.

Speaking with journalist, Anthony Ejifor urged political leader to remember and support less privileged ones in the society by creating opportunities in state and local government level for the citizenry will not feel the systematic absence of the federal government, he insisted that there is not Federal government in Nigeria when it comes to programms for all inclusive poverty aliviation, calling for good governance to the grass root level.

The industrialist commended the state government, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for creating business friendly environment and  opportunities for various trade and commercial activities to thrive. He also appealed to the Federal government to prevail on multinational oil companies to relocate their operational headquarters to the Niger Delta to enable the people benefits from the resources explored in their region.

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship.
