Endless Celebration as Delta Government Presents Staff of Office to King of Ogbolubiri-Mein Kingdom.

The Delta State Government yesterday Friday, presented a staff of office to his Royal Majesty, Pere Johnbull Polokowei,  Ongolo 1. The Pere (King) of Ogbolubiri-Mein Kingdom at Agbodobiri town, Burutu Local government Area, Delta State.

The Deputy governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro was received by the Chairman, Burutu Local Government Area, Hon. Godknows Angele, The Delta State Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Chief. Emma Agbaduba, Royal Fathers from Burutu local government and host of government officials for the presentation of government seal of Authority to the Highly celebrated monarch in the Niger Delta.

It was like a breathe of life into a kingdom that was embroiled in a kingship tussle for long time. With passage of challenging moments for the kingdom, all is set for their communities under the kingdom to experience uninterrupted Development and government attention.



 The celebration, jubilation gathered more momentum as the grand breaking ceremony and the joy of having a compassionate king takes the front page of Ogbolubiri Mein Kingdom.

His Royal Majesty, King Johnbul Polokowei, and Members of Ogbolubiri traditional council of Chiefs expressed gratitude to Delta State governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and the Deputy governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro for  honoring the Kingdom with a privilege to function as a traditional institution.

Thousands of dignitaries within and outside the kingdom defy difficulties of of the flood ravaged terrain to ensure success of the occasion. After the departure of the Deputy governor, the celebration and the joy of the occasion continued.

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship. The aggrieved retired police officers also wrote a Save Our Soul (SOS) letter to the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, calling for an urgent intervention. Speaking on behalf of the protesters, Chairman of the retirees, Christopher Effiong said many of their members have developed terminal illnesses and heart attacks as a result of the frustration associated with the scheme.
