Delta 2023: Ijaw Youths Will Not support Ijaw Politicians For Governorship.

WARRI-- The Ijaw youths have given it warning that they would not support selfish and dubious Ijaw leaders who may contest 2023 governorship polls in Delta State.

Speaking on behalf of the youths, the national president of Ijaw People's Development Initiative, IPDI, Comrade Ozobo Austin, said that Delta Ijaw youths were tired of what they described as "use and dump politics"and vowed not to support any selfish and incompetent Ijaw political leader who may contest 2023 governorship polls in the state.

The youths stated" We want to state unequivocally that such greedy and selfish Ijaw leaders is the reason for the underdevelopment and poor government presence in Delta Ijaw communities"

"They want to be governors for their selfish and myopic agenda and not for the well being of Delta State. We will not allow such leaders to ascend to the seat of the governor after waisted golden opportunities and public resources which could have been used to better the lives of Ijaws and Deltans at large"

They added ,"we will do all we can as Ijaw Youths to stop the ambition of such selfish and dubious political leaders who want to metamorphose to the glass house as kings in 2023"

Ozobo, onbehalf of the youths, further stressed that no current Ijaw political office holder in the state and national had impacted meaningfully to the lives of Ijaw youths and Ijaw communities in the state and do not qualify or deserved another opportunity.

The Ijaw youth leader, stated that selfish Ijaw political leaders who were making preparation to contest 2023 gubernatorial polls in Delta State should bury their ambitions and hide their faces in shame.

He further added that such leaders had turned their current appointments and elective positions to family and community affairs and that such leaders with short and myopic dreams of family and community governance were not fit to be given such bigger opportunity which had to do with the entire Deltans.

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme.
