Liberate Delta: Gbagi Proposes Developmental Revolution in Burutu,
Delta State Social Democratic Party, SDP Campaign, on Thursday, December 22nd, stormed Burutu town with liberation message championed by the Governorship Candidate of the Party, Olorogun Barrister Kenneth Gbagi OON.
Gbagi and SDP members in their separate speeches, charged the electorate to vote all SDP candidates and protect their votes
They promised the people of Burutu that Gbagi will remove all the youths from the street, he will give them jobs, he will bring skills acquisition programmes to all the nook and cranny of the state.
Gbagi was accompanied by Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi OON, Elder Fred Owotorofa, South-south Vice Chairman of SDP, State Chairman of the party, Ambassador Oke Idawene JP and the Deputy governorship candidate of the party, Chief Mrs Oshilim Ishioma Rosemary were among the dignitaries that graced the party's rally at Burutu local government area of the state.
The event was held close to former United Bank for Africa (UBA) in the council area with a charge on the people to vote our bad leaders who only come back to the people during elections.
Gbagi, said Burutu is home to him as he has a bosom friend, Cletus Emeyin, a former military administrator and have slept in Burutu severally.
According to him, "So many years from 1998 till date, there is no change in Burutu. When I came before, this place was UBA building but the back has relocated, the money coming from Burutu is sweet but the land is not developed because they don't like the people and the land.
"Because they know that you people are important, election is coming. I see all their billboards here. Very soon, they will soon come and give you N5, 000 to buy your votes. Will you remain like that?
"I see no reason why Ogulagha, will have light and Burutu, will not have light. Within six months of my government, I will light up this place. It is not for you to listen to people who will come and lie to you It is not to talk,
"In the last one and the half month, I have been designing the bridge to Burutu. If that bridge gets here, Burutu will turn to London because the bridge, is a must do.
"I, in my estate by the grace of God, I will build a 200 room hotel in Burutu. From Warri, all the way to this Ijaw areas, no other area is as lucky as this area.
"All the Riverine areas we are playing with, will yield us billions of dollars. The only thing I want to plead with you people, is that as I take over government, which is inevitable that we must take over government.
"I want you people to get accommodation for the expatriates that will come here, don't chase them away I will direct them on what to do, how to do it and they turn this place into a tourist attraction.
"There are a lot of countries in the world that are looking for this type of opportunity, but they don't have it. What you have here, is a treasure. You people should get ready, there is going to be a revolution in development here.
"That Bridge from Burutu, if I can create 13 Universities within three months as a minister, I will lay the foundation of that bridge within the first three months as governor.
"I am bringing the Germans to come and do the bridge, they have given us the design and that the bridge will cost us $697 million. That is not money, the money you are coughing out daily from this place, is more that.
So, all we need to do, is to rededicate ourselves and refused to leave our mothers and our fathers poorer than we met them. Burutu was better 30-40 years ago than Burutu is today. We must change it.
I don't know how to tell kies, I am not corruptible, there's no way on this earth you get me to do what is wrong. That is why you see me develop the place.
"If they with the kind of money they have stolen, develop the State, Delta State would have turned to Dubai, but because of fear of where they took the money from, they launder the money", calling on the people to vote massively for all SDP candidates.
Also speaking, Elder Fred Owotorofa, South-south Vice Chairman of SDP, said: "wealth has come to you. Burutu is one of the 25 local government areas and richest but there's nothing to show for it.
"It is exploitation, promises that have and will never be kept. It is all deceit. SDP will change the narrative with Gbagi as governor come 2023.
"The highest tertiary institution that we have, is the school of Maritime Technology.
"Gbagi has character and you need somebody of credibility. In Gbagi you will find that. Gbagi is an entrepreneur, he knows how to turn lives around to move things from no money to wealth.
"There's a man who is determine to make it happen, and God will give him the strength to do it. Don't vote for PDP and APC, vote for SDP", he solicited.
Similarly, the State chairman of the party, Ambassador Oke Idawene JP, said: "I am very excited to be here, Burutu is the richest LGA in Delta State but they have nothing.
"This condition is enough to vote out all bad leaders. They will go to Abuja, collect money and pocket it.
"We have come to the light and solution, Olorogun Gbagi, is the solution. We brought SDP for good governance and social justice.
"SDP government will bring money for the women to do business, the youths will have jobs, Burutu will have light and roads.
"There is no room for ballot box snatching, if you are doing thuggery stop it. This is the time to change the narrative and for it to change, we need Gbagi".
The Deputy governorship candidate of the party, Chief Mrs Oshilim Ishioma Rosemary, said: "The time has come to change the narrative, since they have been there what have they done?
"Vote for the horse which is the symbol of SDP. Vote for the party, come 2023. With this gathering here today, victory is sure", she added.
The House of Assembly candidate for Burutu North State Constituency 1, Hon. Captain Eniye Matthew Sawacha Jnr. said: "If you vote for Okowa, it is his third tenure, where is our 13 % oil money, Ijaw suffers most under the PDP government,
"Burutu seaport, is a story, we are suffering, Ayakoromo bridge will be completed, yet nothing. Burutu is the headquarters of the LGA, but we are suffering.
