Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Delta State, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, OON FNIM yesterday, December 3rd 2022, joined the Presidential Candidate of the party, Prince Adewole Adebayo and his running mate, Engr. Yusuf Salisu Buhari and other dignitaries at the 2022 Ekimogun day festival in the ancient Ondo Kingdom of Ondo State.


Gbagi who is a traditional Chief, Aare-Atunluse of Akure Kingdom journeyed from Delta State to attend the Ekimogun day festival where features of Good Governance were exemplified.

At the occasion, prominent personalities were announced while SDP's presidential candidate, Adewole who promosid to transform Ondo State if elected donated N3 million on behalf of his wife, Queen Lillian Adebayo, 

Adewole dramatised his capacity to enthrone good governance in Nigeria when he said that his attention should be called upon to provide street light to any street without streets without light.

The ceremony was attended by His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Victor Adesimbo, Kiladejo, CFR JILO III, the Osemawe and Paramount Ruler of Ondo kingdom who marked the 34th ceremony on Saturday December 3rd 2022 at the Oba Adesanoye Civic Centre, Ondo town.


Prince Adebayo further thanked the people and the Oba for finding him worthy as the chairman of the previous Ekimogun day, saying promises made are gradually been fulfilled.

His words: “the opportunity given to us last year to be chairman here, we have done most of what we promised.


“We will complete all the lights, if there is any street in Ondo that doesn’t have street light, it means that we haven’t done it. We will do all of them.

“We will also fix all the potholes, hoping that when good government comes with people like us leading it, Ondo will turn to Dubai.

“When the project is finished, you will go round Ondo, you will not see any darkness” he assured.

Dignitaries at the ceremony included the presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adewole Adebayo, the governorship candidate of the party in Delta State and former minister of State for education, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, OON, the South-south Vice Chairman of the party, Elder Barr. Fred Owhotorofa.

Other dignitaries present are the
Ekimogun Day Chairman, Dr. Tola Awosika, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the Deputy Governor of Ondo state, Nollywood star Eniola Badmus, Popular musician Banky W and other Ekimogun chieftains.


On the entourage of the SDP Presidential candidate are Her Excellency, Queen Lillian Adebayo, Engineer Yusuf Salisu Buhari the Vice presidential candidate of SDP,
Former minister of State for Education, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi OON, SDP governorship candidate in Delta state,, Sen. Ugochukwu Uba, Pst Ade Alabi, Chief Godwin Osigbeme, Mr Silas Alani, the SDP Vice chairman of South West, Mr Patrick Anethua, Campaign Strategist South and others.

Others are the Vice Chairman of the party, Delta Central Senatorial District and Delta Central Coordinator, Gbagi Campaign Council, Comrade Mike Dugbo among others.

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship.
