How Gbagi Stormed Udu with Liberation message

Udu community leaders have endorsed the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and former minister of State for education, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi OON, for the 2023 general election.

They also expressed confidence that the biggest private investor in the state, would move the state forward come 2023.

Speaking in Orhuwhorun, during SDP Governorship Campaign in Udu local government area of the state, the President General of the Community, Chief Joseph Tefue, promised that they would work for Gbagi to emerge governor.

"I said earlier that charity begins at home. I am very confident that Gbagi is going to put us ahead, we will work with you and you will put us ahead", he reiterated.

Chief Tefue, who was flanked by his executives, drummed support for the governorship aspiration of the former Chairman, Legal Aid Council of Nigeria, adding that he is the best person to take over governance of the State in 2023.

Addressing the mammoth crowd, the erstwhile Delta Property Development Authority (DDP) Chairman, said he had learned the art of governance.

The Criminologist said he was out to provide meaningful development, opportunities, industrialization, gainful employment for all Deltans, ensure peace and security and run an incorruptible government.

Gbagi, who lamented the underdevelopment in the area said: "the last time I came here with Austine Igbabunu, nothing has changed, with all the money and with everything that has happened in Delta State, nothing has progressed.

"There is no new industry where they manufacture cassava and send abroad. There is no new industry that has shown Orhuwhorun, is better than it was 25 years ago.

"Is the suffering you people are subjected to not enough, the deceit that it will be better, is it not enough, our children went to school but no employment, is it not enough, is the decaying health facilities in our hospitals not enough?

"The deceit of PDP and the money they stole, is it not enough. They stole our money awaiting election. Collect the money, it is your own and reject them.

"The PDP administration has destroyed our lives, our children are now in yahoo business. Don't allow them to fool you again, take Delta State back.

"Our children have graduated, no cottage industry for them to work. In no distant time, they will come and collect your PVCs and give you N5, 000, N10, 000 or N20, 000 in return. Votes for SDP and stand firm".

Promising to change the narrative, the prominent gubernatorial candidate, said: "I will partner with private school owners to make it a more powerful arrangement and a more pragmatic plans for you to do better in your various schools. Wherever you find yourselves, hold on to it for us to liberate Delta State.

"All you youths, go and take your PVCs, everybody go and take your PVCs and if anybody wants to deceive you, say no, this time we want development.

"There is no way you can put something on nothing. The way Delta State is today, that we are borrowing money every month to pay salary, there can not be any magic except massive development and industrialization of Delta State and that is what I stand for.1

"I will develop, industrialize Delta, I will remove my youths from the street and I will get them gainful employment. I have said all Delta children who are of school age, will go to school to the university level free of charge.

"I have said all our youths because it is the duty and responsibility of government to give them jobs and once we take over, we will computarize all our youths local government by local government and we will start paying them a minimum wage of N30, 000 while we look for jobs for them".

Speaking on the other candidates, Gbagi whom CPFN, PFN, OAIC, ANCGF, Catholics have unanimously endorsed and poured prayers on his election victory, said: "a man who is 50 years, is coming to tell you that he is going to do something, ask that man, what have you done?

"If all the money he has, he is carrying it to Ghana, Dubai, China to benefit the economy there, it means he does not love you.

"You will remain this way if you bring people of questionable character to govern you. Once you believe that the person who is coming will do better than today, then, the man for the job, is Gbagi.

"I will partnership with you, if you want to leave this your place better. A good father and mother will prepare the place for their children and if I have done it in some part of Urhobo and the state, I will do it in Udu.

"With the situation we find ourselves in Udu, the least I will do in my first year, is to bring one massive cottage factory to Udu to start with. If you have a governor that has character, he is respected, has an international appeal, people will come to your State to invest.

"You people should ask yourselves, who are the other candidates? Are they thieves? Criminals? How do you want a criminal to come and be your governor? And you believe that it will be well with you.

"You people should hold me accountable one year after my governorship. The expatriates that I am going to bring to work with our people and gainfully employ our people, you people should not chase them.

"You must corporate with them and make sure that your factory grows. If the grow one factory and you people like and support them, they will grow the second and third one. We want to bring back Delta as an industrial hub and that is possible" the largest private investor in the state declared.
