Christian Association of Nigeria, Ukwani Chapter Rejects Omo-Agege, Adopts Gbagi As Governorship Candidate 


The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Delta State Chapter,  has adopted the Social Democratic Party Candidate, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi.OON as its candidate for the 2023 governorship election in the state.

FocalPoint Reports confirmed  CAN's adoption of the former Minister of State for Education on Wednesday, December 14th 2022 in Obiaruku, Ukwuani Local government area, Delta State.

The Secretary of CAN, Ukwuani Chapter, Prophet Dr Yomere Michael, during the SDP campaign in Delta North, disclosed that all Christians in the state have adopted Gbagi and the adoption was unanimous, all Christians in Delta State will vote in with one mind for Gbagi of SDP.

The campaign was attended by a large crowd with all the blocks that made up CAN fully represent. members in the Campaign train include the National Vice Chairman of SDP, Barr. Elder Fred Owotorofa, the Deputy governorship candidate of the party Chief Mrs Oshilim Ishioma Rosemary, the State chairman of the party, Ambassador Oke Idawene JP, the Vice Chairman of SDP in Delta Central, Comrade Mike Dugbo, the Director General, Gbagi Campaign Council, Prof. Jeff Mokobia, the Deputy Director General.


Speaking on the endorsement of Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, OON Prophet Dr Yomere further disclosed that the Governorship Candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Delta State was not endorsed, rather, Gbagi was Endorsed because he has impacted lives positively, he created jobs for many when he was not in Government.

According to him, "Christians in the state are in one mind as retards the endorsement of Gbagi on Tuesday, November 13th 2022, when he visited the Christian Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (CPFN) and Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) at ALPHA and OMEGA (PFN SECRETARIAT) in Orhokpokpor, along Agbarho/Agnelli, the administrative headquarter of Ughelli north local government area.

 "All Christians in Delta State have adopted Gbagi, on the elections day, Christians will vote as one for Gbagi. we saw other candidates including Senator Ovie Omo-Agege who came to us, we did not adopt him".

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship.
