Delta PDP Moves for Bye-Election as Governor Okowa, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi Others Play Major Role


The governor of Delta State, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, 2023 Governorship Hopeful, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, and leadership of the People's Democratic Party on Tuesday stormed Irri Community, Isoko South Local Government Area in preparation for the bye-election on Saturday, September 11th, 2021

The bye-election is organized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to fill the vacuum created by the death of its member, Late Kenneth Ogba, in the Isoko South Constituency 1,  Delta State House of Assembly.


The political gathering was part of the activity to hand over the party's flag to its bearer, Mr. Evivie Ovuakporie as the candidate of the party for the upcoming by-election.

Delta State Governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, and the main governorship aspirant in the State come 2023, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi and others played the role of kingmakers for the great party in the coming House of Assembly election.

The event took place at Uro-Irri Primary school, where Gbagi also have a heart-to-heart discussion during the flag-off ceremony

Breaking: ASUU suspends 2-week warning strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has suspended its two-week warning strike it declared last week across all public universities in the country. The union announced the suspension on Wednesday at a press conference held at its headquarters in Abuja. President of ASUU, Chris Piwuna, who read a prepared speech before newsmen, explained that the development followed intervention by the Senate and some other well-meaning Nigerians. However, he sad the National Executive Council of the Union resolved to give the government a one-month window to address all contending areas.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has stated that he would not have agreed with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu if he had discussed his move to declare a State of Emergency in Rivers State. Wike noted that he is not in conflict with the suspended Rivers State Governor,      Sim Fubara  He stressed his opposition on the State of Emergency rule, stating that only the President knows the right time to lift it.
