Yoruba Nation Rally will hold- Sunday Igboho

Yoruba nation activist, Sunday Igboho Adeyemo, has backtracked from his earlier position vowing to go on with the Yoruba Nation rally.

Recall that Igboho had announced the cancellation of the rally scheduled for Saturday after the Department of State Services (DSS) raided his residence in Ibadan on Wednesday.

Following the raid on Igboho’s residence, the DSS had declared the activist wanted, advising him to report to any security agency.

The Lagos State Police Command had also warned against the rally holding in the state.

The Police had warned Igboho to steer clear of Lagos, saying hoodlums were plotting to hijack the rally.

Speaking in a Facebook live broadcast through Olayomi Koiki, his media aide, Igboho said the rally would hold.

Breaking: ASUU suspends 2-week warning strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has suspended its two-week warning strike it declared last week across all public universities in the country. The union announced the suspension on Wednesday at a press conference held at its headquarters in Abuja. President of ASUU, Chris Piwuna, who read a prepared speech before newsmen, explained that the development followed intervention by the Senate and some other well-meaning Nigerians. However, he sad the National Executive Council of the Union resolved to give the government a one-month window to address all contending areas.
