Obaseki Condenms killing of Ayomike, Wife in Delta, Demands Action from Police

The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has condemned the murder of Pa Joe Ayomike and his wife, in their Warri home, Delta State.

Pa Joe Ayomike, who was an Emeritus Director of the Warri Choral Society (WCS), and his wife, Chinyere, on Monday morning, was found dead at their residence in Warri GRA, Delta state.


In a statement, Mr. Itse Ayomike, son of the victims who grieve the loss said,
 "It is with a heavy heart that I announce the death of my great father, Mr Joseph Ayomike, who was found together with his wife murdered in his bedroom".


According to him, he (Pa Ayomike) was found shot, cut with machete and stabbed to death alongside his wife. 

However, Governor Godwin Obaseki  of Edo state has urged the police to unmask the killers of the couple and bring them to justice.

Breaking: ASUU suspends 2-week warning strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has suspended its two-week warning strike it declared last week across all public universities in the country. The union announced the suspension on Wednesday at a press conference held at its headquarters in Abuja. President of ASUU, Chris Piwuna, who read a prepared speech before newsmen, explained that the development followed intervention by the Senate and some other well-meaning Nigerians.
