Esievo congratulates Governor Okowa at 62


A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and Governorship aspirant, Chief Abel Ogheneovo Esievo, yesterday, congratulated His Excellency, Sen. (Dr.) Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa on the occasion of his 62 years birthday anniversary.

Chief Esievo who gave this statement in his congratulatory message to the Delta State Governor, Sen. Okowa said he is a man with integrity, who has demonstrated his true love for the state, and has shown this through his developmental projects across the local government areas of the state.

While describing Okowa as a seasoned politician of impeccable character, Chief Esievo said from 2015 till date that he has assumed office, much has been achieved in all sectors of government, adding that he has manage the PDP family as one undivided entity.

He said Sen. Okowa has for the past six years of his administration, put smiles in the faces of Deltans without discrimination of gender equality, saying that he has placed the youths as top priority in his administration, pointing out that this is something that has never happened in the state.

Chief Esievo stated that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, is a man who see the state as one homogenous state without ethnic differences, and a man who has brought relative peace to all parts of the state, saying that his desire to lift the state to an enviable height.

Speaking further, he said, “Okowa is a man who is always holding unto his words and l most say am most impressed on the level he has taken Delta to with massive infrastructures and human capital development.

"While congratulating him on his 62nd birthday anniversary, it is our prayers that God Almighty in His Infinite Mercy and Grace, continue to guide and protect him as his administration finishes much stronger than he assumed office as Delta state governor."

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship. The aggrieved retired police officers also wrote a Save Our Soul (SOS) letter to the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, calling for an urgent intervention.
