IPDI made the call on Sunday through the spokesperson of the group, Comrade Ezekiel Kagbala in Warri, stating that Mulade Sheriff whose contributions to education, Sport, Peace building in Delta State and Niger Delta at large is yet to be appreciated by the Delta State government under Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.

He noted that, Delta State should not be part of the society that is saturated with political favouritism and eye service where merit means nothing to the ruling class, the exceptionality of Chief Sheriff Mulade is opening doors outside his home for him and others, making the state and the region proud.

In 2019, Mulade through his NGO, Centre for Peace and Environmental Justice donated a 200-horse power, executive luxury speed boat to the Nigeria Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko, Delta State

Consistently, he has organised and sponsored the popular Peace and Unity Quiz/Essay Competitions for secondary school students in riverine communities Delta State.

Not to mention the popular Ijaw/Itsekiri Peace and Unity Football Cup Competition, also known as Comrade Mulade Sheriff Peace and Unity Cup, and he gave out N2.2 million cash awards and consolation prizes splashed on the competitors.alot of positive contributions from Mulade Sheriff that has complemented the state government developmental strides.

In the light of above, exclusion of Mulade from the governance of the state for political reasons will mean demerit to Okowa's government and the People's Democratic party ahead of 2023 and will set a bad precedent where the leaders rewards mediocrity above good works to humanity.

Mulade has distinguished himself through his philanthropic service to Deltans at large without holding any government office. He deserve recognition and appreciation. ijaw group, Ijaw People's Development Initiative IPDI strongly apeal to the Governor to consider Mulade for appointment by the Governor.

Mulade Sheriff will make indelible positive impact if given a key public role to use his environmental knowledge to make Delta state a Paradise of Good environment
