Delta State CDHR Boss Edariese Mourns 3 Police Officers Killed by Unknown Gunmen in Delta

The committee for the defence of human rights (CDHR), Delta State chapter, under the leadership of comrade (Chief) Edariese Peter mourns the death of three gallant police officers shot dead by unknown gunmen in an attack on the police headquarters, umutu in ukwuani local government area, Delta State.

The State CDHR Chairman noted that, the sad incident on friday, 28/5/2021 at 2 am came as a rude shock as same is one incident too many on our national space at the moment.

He added that the officers so murdered and their families are also victims of the oppression, persecution and bad governance going on in our country today.

"Their families would have fought on the same side with those terminating their lives if good reasoning is dictating the action that led to their death".

"By their death, their wives and children have been made widows and orphans which is not good enough for our nationtoday where the scourge of corona-virus is taking a toll on the lives of peoe the world over. cdhr delta state hereby comiserates with the government and people of nigeria, delta state and in particular, the families of the victims for the irreparable lose".

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship. The aggrieved retired police officers also wrote a Save Our Soul (SOS) letter to the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, calling for an urgent intervention.
