DELTA 2023: I POSSESS THE BEST CREDENTIALS TO TAKE OVER FROM GOV OKOWA -GBAGI

Frontline PDP Governorship aspirant for the 2023 Delta elections, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, has said he possesses the best credentials to succeed Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, come May 29 2023

Speaking at an interactive session with journalists when he paid a visit to the temporary press centre of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) , Delta State council in Asaba , the legal giant and industrialist, said as one of the founding fathers of the PDP in Delta State, he is eminently qualified to build on the stronger Delta legacies that Senator Dr lfeanyi Okowa is bequeathing to Deltans.

Gbagi reiterated his resolve to establish 100 industries within his first hundred days in office, revealing that he had undertaken in-depth feasibility studies of the various locations of the industries across the 25 local government areas of Delta State

The business mogul and criminologist said with his wealth of experience in the business sector and coupled with his vast contacts across the globe z the realization of the industrial revolution which will lift more Deltans out of poverty into gainful employment, is sure footed.

He described Governor lfeanyi Okowa as a thoroughbred administrator whose achievements in job and wealth creation, roads and infrastructure , peace and security , education and agricultural revolution , among others , have placed Delta on the national map, stating that he intends to take it up from there and make Delta what Lagos is to Nigeria if given the mandate

Olorogun Gbagi who went down memory lane when he was minister of education ,said under his watch , the Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE), Ughomro , in Uvwie Local government was actualized , while countless federal universities, federal polytechnics, colleges of education, unity schools as well as almajiri schools were built in all the Geo political areas of Nigeria

He therefore assured that he was confident that the Governor Okowa he knows will not hand over to anyone that cannot build on the legacies he is bequeathing to Deltans, assuring that he (Gbagi), is resolute on clinching the PDP gubernatorial ticket for the 2023 elections.

The consummate Paul Harris fellow of the Rotary international charged members of the NUJ to up their ante in being a voice to the voiceless and engaging the political class so as to enable r transparency in governance and public office.

Earlier, the Chairman NUJ Delta State Council, Comrade Mike lkeogwu, noted that Olorogun Gbagi was the first Governorship aspirant to visit journalists in the State , adding that with his wealth of experience in politics , administration and business, he was confident that the Frontline Governorship aspirant will do well if he becomes Governor

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship.
