Okowa's Political Godfather, Stakeholders Agree with Gbagi on need for good Governance in Delta
By Ezekiel Kagbala FPR

Stakeholders from the Urhobo ethnic nationality in Delta State,  have strongly condemned the lack of good Governance and developmental attention given to the State, especially, being the supposed industrial and economic hub of Nigeria.

This necessitated the exploration of innovative ideas presented by the former Minister of State for Education Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, OON, FNIM, and Delta State 2023 Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP.

The former Minister of Information, Prof Sam Oyovbaire, one of the founding fathers of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, and Governor Okowa's political godfather reminded Deltans about challenges that have made bad governance take its root in Delta State. Talking about Justice, Peace Commission, Oyovbaire said, "The commission has brought forth the relationship between religion and politics of governance".

Oyovbaire in agreement with Gbagi and other stakeholders agreed that Delta State should be liberated from bad leadership which has manifested in denying its people their world-class industries and economic space as well as, its multinational oil companies that were in the interest of all in the State.

The stakeholders holders spoke at the annual Good Governance Lecture organized by the Justice, Development, and Peace Commission of the Catholic Diocese of Warri, on Thursday, October 27th, 2022 where Gbagi received an award of recognition for his contributions to nation building and the Church.

Okowa's Political Godfather, questioned that; "If the forthcoming Election is not about ethnicity, religion, then what is good Governance? "Sometimes, we demarket ourselves by not standing up to what should be done in our lives".

In a related Development, the Industrialist, Gbagi, during the lecture, directed his focus on Delta State, calling for decisive action by all stakeholders to act beyond words and retake the state from its current sorrowful condition of total industrial collapse, unemployment and poverty that has pushed the current Government into hopeless borrowing.

The PDP leader, Sam Oyovbaire's  position came in agreement with Gbagi when he stated that every human is tribalsied and belongs to  Community and relegation, affirming that; the country, Nigeria needs repositioning and enthronement of good Governance at all levels, including Delta State.

The pioneer vice chancellor of Delta State University of Science and Technology, Ozoro, Prof. Jacob Snapps Oboreh in his keynote address called on the federal government to roll out programs aimed at ensuring good governance and deepening democracy.
Gbagi in his address admonished Christians, particularly the church to wake up to their vital role of correcting bad leadership in the country and Delta State. He maintained that relegation is essential to a vibrant democratic society. Not only does religion teach virtues, but it also catalyzes moral and political actions that could enthrone good leadership and dethrone bad governance.

Gbagi further pointed out that if good Governance is in place, it. would eradicate poverty. Proffering solutions to current woes in the state, he reiterated the need to Revive moribund Companies to create employment opportunities for the teeming youths who have the potential to sparkling-up a kind of revolution that could be worse than the 'EndSars'.

Olorogun Gbagi, OON, was accompanied by members of his Campaign Council and the Deputy governorship candidate, Chief Mrs. Oshilim Ishioma Rosemary, who equally doubles as the Deputy Chairman, Director General of the Campaign Council, Prof. Jiff Mokobia, Director of Communications, Mr. Austine Kpoma, Director of Research and Policy, Prof. A. Atubi.

Others are, Mr. Dan Siloko, Director, Security and Protocol, Mrs. Amaka Nwosu, Director of Legal, Miss Temiloluwa Temitope, Deputy Director of Finance, Mr. George Onyidu, Deputy Director, of North, Mr. Mike Dugbo, Deputy Director, Central, and Mr. Clint Amor, Deputy Director, Central among other members of the Campaign Council, party members and supporters.
