Liberate Delta 2023: Gbagi Trecked Long Distance as Youths, Women Holds Solidarity Walk

Delta Youths, Women and members of the Social Democratic Party SDP, on Wednesday, held a solidarity rally to congratulate and welcome the SDP Governorship candidate, Olorogun Barr Kenneth Gbagi  and his running mate, Mrs. Ishioma Rosemary Oshilim

Youths, women, artisans and traders, in their thousands defied the heavy downpour of rain, marched, sang solidarity and victory songs to register their unalloyed support for the candidature of Gbagi, to also congratulate and welcome him back home to Delta State, after President Muhammadu Buhari confered a national honour on him at Abuja.


The youths began their mass solidarity walk with Chief Kenneth Gbagi from the Osubi airport to PTI Junction, and marched through to Roundabout and to motor Spare parts market where Gbagi addressed traders at the popular Warri/ Effurun sparepart market.

According to them, the solidarity walk with Gbagi was part of efforts to re-energise, reinforce and reawaken the consciousness in the youths, Deltans on the need to Support Gbagi as the general elections approaches.
The former Minister of State for Education, while addressing traders who welcomed him called on Nigerians to support presidential candidate from the southern part of the country in the 2023 general elections.

He also restates that he is the right man to succeed Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of  Delta State as he has all its takes to industrialize the state to enviable levels.

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship.
