URHOBO UNION FOR GBAGI SOLIDARITY IN CANADA, USA, UK AND SWITZERLAND WARNS OKPE UNION IN UK TO DESIST FROM FALSEHOOD AND POLITICAL PROPAGANDA ON THE PERSON OF OLOROGUN KENNETH GBAGI:

URHOBO UNION FOR GBAGI SOLIDARITY IN CANADA, USA, UK AND SWITZERLAND WARNS OKPE UNION IN UK TO DESIST FROM FALSEHOOD AND POLITICAL PROPAGANDA ON THE PERSON OF OLOROGUN KENNETH GBAGI:

Our law abiding and quiet attention have been drawn to a Group called “OKPE UNION, UK” on their ill-fated publication of Sunday 18th September, 2022 signed by a trio of the Group President, Chief Godwin Ogholo, Mr. John Ewhubare Siakpere, a purported United Kingdom-based Lawyer as the Publicity Secretary and one other viz Dr. Stephen Richards as the Assistant General Secretary.

The hired publication carries a compendium of fallacies and calculated to assassinate the character and subsequently de-market our amiable OLOROGUN KENNETH GBAGI, the gubernatorial candidate in Delta State, under the auspices of the Socialist Democratic Party (SDP).

Before we drive and stress our points back home, it is perhaps pertinent to ask the following germane questions:

1)  Can a Cooler containing several strong and glaring evidence concort a lie?

2)  Has Sheriff Oborevwori denied it?  Of course he dares not.

3)  Can a Referee running a football March in the UK at the same time be physically present in another football March running in Nigeria simultaneously?  For sure, the answer is in the negative.  It is for this singular reason that the Okpe Union based in the UK should have taken precaution in their sinister Publication. As a diaspora Group, you cannot see more than those of us in Nigeria.  Crying more than a bereaved person is never worth it.

Our evidence on this matter are too incontrovertible and cannot be obliterated.  These will be unfolded when they become absolutely necessary, just as Olorogun Gbagi puts it “…we shall separate the boys from the men…” in due course.

May we remind you that Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi is never a man of “many words”.  He has an enduring strong reputation and has turned down several offers by successive Nigeria government to serve, specifically as a Minister. He reluctantly accepted one.

He is dynamic and a very successful business mogul, spanning across Nigeria and Africa with series of business holdings.  This is just for a short.

Although, we are not out for a newspaper or media war, because we are fighting for the common course and advancement of the Urhobo Nation as advised by our leader (Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi).  Therefore we would not borrow your language or porous description on his person, hence we would allow you a final benefit of doubt to withhold your imaginations or lies fed from political sycophants.

Sequel to your unguarded publication on the other issue, we are convinced that your source of information was based only on newspaper reports which according to you was the publication of the Punch Newspaper of October 1st 2020 to wit: that Gbagi was declared Wanted by the Delta State Police Command.

Let us educate you on the above.  The Police according to the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria has the inalienable right to declare anybody wanted, irrespective of his status.  Notwithstanding, Gbagi showed up and the matter was closed, so the Publication was voided. Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi still discontented with the level of embarrassment thereafter proceeded to Court to enforce his Fundamental Human Right.  Thus in Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/1267/20 in the Federal High Court, holding at Abuja on Thursday 8th March 2022 before his Lordship, Hon Justice Taiwo O. Taiwo, the Court gave judgement in his favour and directed both the Inspector-General of Police and the Delta State Commissioner of Police, as well as the Delta State Attorney-General to pay the sum of One hundred Million Naira (100,000,000.00) to Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi. Within a month and in what appears to be a demonstration of  anger by the Inspector-General of Police, he immediately transferred the Commissioner of Police out of Delta State.

In your desperate attempt to cause further ridicule, you also mentioned “reports of Gbagi’s conviction by a Delta State High Court, which awarded a fine of N1m against him…”  quoting the Vanguard Newspaper Publication of 20th July 2022, Daily Post of 19th July 2022 and National Daily of 20th July 2022.  Finally you then asked who is an ex-convict?

We regret that you do not understand the meaning of the word “conviction” in Law, even with a Lawyer within your midst and who is also a party to the signatory of the Publication..

Therefore, you also need to be educated on this: The case was later dismissed by a Court of co-ordinate jurisdiction, specifically by a Delta State High Court sitting in Otor-Udu in Ughelli South Local Government Area. See Cherry Media newspaper publication of 23rd July 2022 where the facts are so clearly stated undiluted.  We can forward a copy of the Publication to you on demand, or you proceed to the Court to obtain Certify True Copy (CTC).

The other segment of the Case was the aforesaid suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/1267/20 in the Federal High Court, holding at Abuja on Thursday 8th March 2022 before his Lordship, Hon Justice Taiwo O. Taiwo where judgement was handed down in favour of Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi and cost of One hundred million Naira awarded against all the parties for the violation of Gbagi’s right.

The Court clearly also directed that the police, Attorney-General and the others should publish an unreserved apology to the person of Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi in at least two national dailies, namely; Thisday and Daily Sun newspapers. We can forward a copy of the Court judgement on demand or you can proceed to the Court to obtain Certify True Copy.

Be further informed that no court case is currently pending for Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi at the moment.

We wish to educate you further that an ex-convict In a nutshell is defined to be a person who has served a prison Term or Sentence.  Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi in any case has neither gone to prison or serve any Term, so you can see clearly that your assertion on Gbagi is totally incorrect and highly misinformed. We expect Mr. John Ewhubare Siakpere (JP) who claimed to be a United Kingdom based Lawyer and who is also the Publicity Secretary of the Group and co-signatory to the lopsided Publication to have given you these lectures, particularly on ex-convict issues, rather than being shenanigan.

Please be warn and stay away from mendacities.

Signed:  Oghenekevwe Simeon
Spokesperson.

Dated this 20th day of our LORD in the year 2022.

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions
