2027: Delta waste managers organise mega rally to support Tinubu, Oborevwori

Waste management stakeholders under the Private Sector Participants (PSP) platform in Delta State have announced plans to hold their 2026 convention, with a major highlight being an endorsement rally for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to promotional materials for the event, the PSP Waste Managers Convention 2026 is scheduled to take place on May 8, 2026, at Effurun Roundabout. Themed “Endorsement/Rally for Tinubu & Sheriff Re-election,” the gathering is expected to draw over 4,000 PSP waste managers from across Delta State.

The convention is being coordinated by the leadership of the PSP Waste Managers, with Lucky Adjekuko, identified as the State President and Chief Host, playing a central role in organizing the event.

Mr Lucky Adjekuko, Delta State PSP President/Chief Host, said that President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori have done so much hence the event is being put together to drum support for their re-election next year, saying that; “When music is nice, you have to play it twice. Both of them have not disappointed us at all”.

Organisers say the rally is aimed at demonstrating support for the administration of both leaders, citing what they describe as improvements in governance and infrastructure, particularly within Delta State.

Engr Felix Oborodowan, PRO, said that the event is also expected to host all 25 Local Government Chairmen in Delta State as special guests, alongside other political stakeholders and industry players and called on all and sundry to attend the big ceremony.

Observers note that the planned endorsement rally reflects growing political mobilization ahead of the 2027 elections, especially among professional and sector-based groups seeking to align with incumbent leadership.

Further details about security arrangements and participation logistics are expected to be announced by the organisers in the coming days.
