Female Activist, Enuwa Trains Students on Beauty Skills, Appeal for Government Support in Delta 


As part of an effort to economically empower the needy, women and girls in Delta State, a female rights activist, Hope Enuwa Osaigbovo, an indigene of Edo State who was born and brought up in Delta State has Trained hundreds of young ladies with makeup and hair making skills in Udu Local government area of Delta State.
The activist who ventured into entrepreneurship held a graduation ceremony for her 12th batch of trained students on Sunday, April 2nd, 2023 at the Essence of Enuwas center Orhuwhorun road, opposite Wetland event center in Udu Local Government area, near Warri, Delta State. 

Speaking at the graduation party, the proprietress, Hope Enuwa Osaigbovo said; "Here at Essence of Nuwas, we offer group classes, individual, or group business workshops.

"We have highly experienced tutors employed to provide in-depth knowledge, theory, and practical requirements of Bridal Makeup. We train our students to be confident as professional Makeup Artists, those trained will be able to build a successful business".

She however appealed to the Delta State Government to consider her center for skill acquisition meant to empower youths.

A graduating student, John Gift Oghenekevwe disclosed that the makeup education, engagement, learning, and retention have given her the needed skills to establish her business.

Another beneficiary Jeremiah  Paulina Akpevwe from Osiefurun, Ughelli South Local government said that "This training is a stepping stone for me to establish her own Business".

The proprietress, Hope Enuwa noted that; "The motivation is to empower young ladies, to acquire a skill. The training lasted for one year alongside two months of working experience, "We have appealed to Delta state government severely to support our programs to enable us to train more persons as part of the Government's youth empowerment initiative. We are yet to get that support," she said.

She appealed further appealed to the State government to enlist her center among those enlisted to train those the state government has created empowerment programs for.

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship.
