A Political Pressure group in Nigeria, Social Movement for Good Governance has called on the Nigeria Judiciary to put the interest of Deltans above that of any politician or group, as it prepares to adjudicate on the governorship election petitions before it.

The group made the call through its publicity secretary, Comrade Francis Jemmine during a meeting held recently in Delta State capital Asaba, following the petition filed by the Delta State Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate  Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi OON.FNIM.

The group supported Gbagi who prayed to be declared as the winner of the March 18th governorship election in Delta State and to void the Certificate of Return issued by INEC to the candidate of PDP in the state.

"The Judiciary, the world over, is regarded as the last hope of the common man, this presupposes that it is the only place the common man can get justice during electoral and other disputes, judicial officers to be impartial arbiters and shun favoritism, I appeal to the to uphold their independence and adjudicate with utmost fairness and justice".
