His Excellency, Deacon Kingsley Burutu Otuaro , the Deputy Governor of Delta State today commissioned the Electronic Library of Petroleum Training lnstitute PTI Effurun Delta State.
The Delta Deputy Governor Who was the Special Guest Honour at the occasion in his opening speech thanked the President of American Society of Safety Professional Nigerian Chapter, Mrs Mercy Omoifo lrefo,  for undertaking the e-learning Library Project in PTI to Promote academic  research and development in the education Sector of our economy.
Deacon Otuaro  promised that  the Governor Okowa led   State Government will continue to partner with Agencies like ASSP, Which are ready to add value to the learning process of  our citadel's  of learning .
He explained that the State is determined in all ramification to continue  providing enabling  environment and  to strengthen her   collaborative  effort the more with PTl where necessary so that collectively 
they can position the institute in sync with the realities of modern way of learning  for a brighter future.
Professor Andy Ogochukwu Egwuyenga, Vice Chancellor, Delta State University Abraka, the Guest of Honour, represented by Professor Mrs  Rosemary Okoh Deputy VC Academic in
her key note address remarked that DELSU, having embarked  in a similar project before now , will  deplore her  wealth of experience  to assist PTI to ensure the successful takeoff of  the laudable e-library project. 
Prof. Rosemary Okoh  who assertted in her speech that PTI is towing the right path in the pursuit of learning , said : " l commend your effort for  conceptualizing the idea of e-learning which is a great door to quantum progress in education."
The Academic Don emphasized that the importance of e-library in modern day learning process is indeed a core course.
Dr Henry Adimula the Principal/Chief Executive Of PTI, ably represented by  Dr Bamidele Oyetunde, Director Research and Development, earlier in his welcome address described the Commissioning of the e-library of PTI  as a memorable event in the life of the Institute .
 According to Dr Bamidele Oyetunde, the project has made it possible for students here in PTI to be able to access resource materials wherever they may be round the globe in the  comfort of our e-library
While promising to put the e-library into Judicious  use, Dr Bamidele Oyetunde thanked the Executives of the American Society of Safety Professional, Nigerian Chapter, especially the President Mrs Mercy Omoifo lrefo for initiating the project.

 presentation thanked the Principal  Chief Executive of PTI, Dr Henry Adimula for his cordial  understanding to provide a venue for ASSP to site the library to promote academic excellence ,to impact knowledge to staff and students in a seamless search for informative resource of value. 
The ASSP President disclosed that she decided to champion the Project due to knowledge gaps she identified as individuals may not have the financial resources to  pay to get access to such important facilities that are essential for meaningful leaning to take place in the context of modern reality.

Fr. Oghenejode Mbaka, Prince Ejiro Enahoro, Justice Abdulkarim Yusuf, Engr Dr Ominike Akpovi, Mr Brown
 Ukanifimoni. and others for their selfless service .
ln a related Development, the Exco Members and the President of  ASSP with top Management Staff of PTI went to the Osubi Campus of the lnstitute were the  Office of American Society Of Safety Professional Nigeria Chapter was officially opened by Dr Bamidele Oyetunde Director , Research and Development, onbehalf of the principal Dr Henry Adimula.

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship. The aggrieved retired police officers also wrote a Save Our Soul (SOS) letter to the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, calling for an urgent intervention.
