NGO, CEPEJ Signs Partnership With Federal Government, Handover Zonal Office Building to Agency, IPC

A leading Nongovernmental Organisation in Nigeria, Center for Peace and Environmental Justice on Friday 18th June 2021 made Niger Deltan's proud as a leading NGO in Nigeria.

This came as the National Coordinator, Comrade (Chief) Mulade Sheriff, signed and handover the South-South Zonal office building to the Federal Government of Nigeria- through the Institution for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) led by the Director-General, Prof Bakut Tswah Bakut to receive and open the building at Warri Environ, Ugolo Okpe, Delta State.

The Director-General, Prof Bakut during the signing ceremony noted that the Nigerian government is proud of CEPEJ as an NGO that does not beg for money from the government, he added that Collaboration with CEPEJ will deepen Peace and Unity in the Country and Africa at large.



Bakut stated that Collaboration with the Institute for Peace, Conflict Resolution and CEPEJ will promote the mandate of preventing conflict in Africa 


 "We have the responsibility of advising the government on sustainable peacebuilding and policymaking.

The occasion also witnessed the signing and handing over of the South-South zonal building to the Federal government for the promotion of peace and unity in the country.

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship. The aggrieved retired police officers also wrote a Save Our Soul (SOS) letter to the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, calling for an urgent intervention.
