The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, has stated that the partnership of Center for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ) with the Intelligence Unit of the Police by building an office for the State Intelligence Bureau (SIB) in Warri Area Command, is cardinal to his intelligence community Policing Policy and Strategy.

IGP who made this known during the handover ceremony of the State Intelligence Bureau (SIB), Office in Warri Area Command, Delta state on Thursday by Centre for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ), said intelligence is today the bedrock of modern policing globally as such the importance of the SIB office built by CEPEJ cannot be overemphasized.

Earlier, in his welcome address, National Coordinator of Centre for Peace and Environmental Justice, Comrade (Chief) Sheriff Mulade said the donation of the structure to the police was another landmark activity of CEPEJ in its quest to promote peace, unity and environmental sustainability in the African Continent.

He pointed out that there was a need for infrastructural investment in Nigeria, and CEPEJ with the corporate goal and missions to champion activities geared towards peacebuilding, advocacy for human rights and good governance, pooled resources to support the activities of security outfits.

"Our earlier plan was to support the construction of the SIB building when we were informed but due to the outstanding performance and commitment, we decided to fully take it over and erect a structure with furniture for effective State Intelligence Investigation Bureau in Warri and environs,” he added.
