  Top PDP Members Dump Party, Decamp To APC

  The Peoples Democratic Party PDP family in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State remain perplexed as one of their finest political heavyweight, Hon.Stanley Ebifede Garry decamped to the main opposition Party All Progressive Congress APC, in Burutu,Delta State.

The former vibrant PDP Stalwart and grassroots mobilizer does not say goodbye alone as he pull out with the current PDP Ward 7 woman leader,Madam Patience Pafiye and many other teeming supporters to the All Progressive Congress.

The historic event took place on Sunday 23rd June,2019 at the GRA resident of Ward 7 Ayakoromo APC leader,Mr. Clement Moni,who described the coming of Hon.Garry as a plus to the APC family,as well as a step in the right direction to move Ward 7 to the next level.

It will interest you to note that,Hon.Stanley Garry was a former Councillor Ward 7 in Burutu Local Government Area.Until his departure to the All Progressive Congress APC,he was a grassroots mobilizer and a chieftain in the PDP family,Burutu who worked assiduously for the reelection of His.Excellency, Dr.Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa,the executive governor of Delta State,Sen.James Manager, Hon.Julius Pondi,Hon.Asupa Forteta and host of other PDP aspirants in the 2019 general elections.

Giving reasons for leaving the PDP, Hon.Garry said," l cannot live by the river bank and allow soap to enter my eyes.l have come to APC to put in my wealth of experience as a political technocrat and analyst to provide a conducive working atmosphere in order to move our Community and Burutu local government forward."

" Hon.Garry reiterated that, APC is the only political party in Nigeria that has provided equal job opportunity to the youths and market women beyond party line through N-Power,Tradermoni to stabilize the nation's economy.l want to assure my new family that,l will put in my best to reposition our party through strategic planning to form a formidable opposition ahead of 2023 general elections in Burutu particular,and Delta at large,he stated. "

However,high points of the occasion was the issuers of membership card to the newly decampees by the Chairman APC Ward 7 Ayakoromo,Mr.Tonye Saibakumo.Other APC faithfuls in Burutu and Delta state that witnessed the occasion includes; Mr.Prince Benafa,Vice Chairman,APC Burutu,Comrade Timi Coleman (FHNR),Youth leader,Comrade John Oromoni,Publicity Secretary,Chief.Poubini Christopher,Hon.Ebiakpor Ezebri leader,Hon.Michael Edoukumo,Mr.Cyril Soukumor,Hon.Okoro Dauzide,Elder Clement Moni, Barr.Pele Demebide,Mr.Tonye Amadiowei and host of others.

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship. The aggrieved retired police officers also wrote a Save Our Soul (SOS) letter to the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, calling for an urgent intervention. Speaking on behalf of the protesters, Chairman of the retirees, Christopher Effiong said many of their members have developed terminal illnesses and heart attacks as a result of the frustration associated with the scheme. In a letter dated May 21 and addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, the retirees said many of their colleagues have lost their lives due to the prevai
