Says There Is No Functional Leadership Structure In Congress

Warri__Barely four days to ljaw National Congress INC election,the Electoral Committee has announce again the sudden shift of date initially slated for 8th June,this weekend to 28th June,2019.This making second time shift of date against the first date of 6th June to 8th and now 28th.

Speaking on the recent development,an ljaw leader, Alaowei Chief.Friday Igbegbe said the postponement of the election date is for the interest of ljaw nation, stressing that Congress does not have a functional leadership structure on ground before planning to conduct an election.

Friday Igbegbe buttress that there are some internal issues rocking INC that needs to be resolved first before election.He said,to avoid similar problems of IYC in Congress,the leadership have to address all pending issues in INC amicably before the election.

According to him said ;" The Ijaw National Congress INC must put her house to order before election because,a divided house cannot stand. All aggrieved persons in the Eastern zone of Congress must be reconciled in order to avoid boycott of the forthcoming election."

" All zones must be given due recognition and come to terms before elections can be conducted in a peaceful atmosphere without resulting to another factional issues like what we are experiencing in IYC.

My appeal to all aspirants is that,for the sake of unity and oneness in Congress,let there be a functional leadership structure in Congress before elections.ln order words,the outstanding issues rocking INC should be addressed first so as to avoid divided Congress after the elections, Chief.Friday Igbegbe stated. "

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship.
