The candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in the March 2019 Delta state governorship election, Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru on Thursday, urged all party faithful across the state to keep hope alive.

Ogboru made this statement in his country home, Abraka community, Ethiope East local government area of Delta State when the revalidation and registration team led by its Chairman, Surveyor Abiodun Aluko from Asaba came to register him and his wife in the ongoing APC membership revalidation and registration exercise.

Addressing mammoth crowed of the APC faithful who gathered at his residence, Chief Great Ogboru expressed confidence that with the huge number of party faithful, the party is not relented to take over Delta state, having seen their desire for change from the quagmire of bad leadership.

He stated that there has been rumour of him decamping from the APC, but noted that with his revalidation exercise alongside with his wife and followers, it is now clear that he is still very much in the party and urged party faithful to take the exercise serious.

He revealed that the leadership of the party deemed it necessary to carry out the revalidation and registration exercise, so that the reward system of the party will go down well with members who have worked for the party for the past and have nothing to show for it.

"I know as a party, we have not been too fair to ourselves especially in the reward system, and that is why the leadership of the party has decided to embarked on this exercise, and it is on the strength of that commitment that am revalidating my membership".

Stressing further, he urged APC members to realize that there is a constitution in the party and that they should uphold the constitution as it is the only thing that can change the narrative and correct the wrongs where others thought it cannot be changed.

According to him, "Mr. President has even said that the party we all belong must go back to the people and that gone are the days when decisions are made in Abuja by one person, it is time the people decide who become their leaders".

He called on party faithful to be more committed towards the revalidation and registration exercise as it is the only power to conquer what some persons described as tendencies in the party.

On their parts, the members of the revalidation and registration exercise led by the Chairman, Surveyor Abiodun Aluko, Secretary Malam Abubakar, Ahmed Ata, Barr. Emenike Uzor, Moses Kyari, Musa Shaibu Guri and Hon. Onyekachu Womba, said they were overwhelmed with the huge turn out of members who came to receive their political leader as he comes to revalidate his membetship and affirmed his membership.

The chairman said with the turn out, that they are rest assured that all APC faithful of the party are showing preparedness in carrying out the exercise in an orderly manner, and promised to attend to all members.

While thanking them, the team of the revalidation and registration exercise, expressed hope that come 2023, with the commitment of party members, APC  can win Delta State.
