Delta Central: Kenneth Gbagi's Place Among Contenders in 2023 Governorship Race

Edging closer to the 2023 Governorship election, the campaigns are no longer quadrennial events; each begins the moment the other ends.

Deltan's with interest are keenly anticipating the 2023 elections, planning for the four years that will come after Governor Ifeanyi Okowa's administration ends.

Kenneth Gbagi, the former Minister of Education, a big-time investor in Delta State has been projecting and envisioning what Delta State will look like from 2023, possibly to align his manifesto to accommodate the expectations and needs of Deltans.

As a matter of interest, permutations for 2023 have already started with Chief Kenneth Gbagi being a first comer in the declaration of intentions to deep his hands into the plum job of delivering governance with a blend of valour, capacity and a unique selling proposition of making Delta state an investment hub.

Pursuant to the fact that Gbagi has developed a reputation as a powerhouse in politics and business, and has also contested severely for the Governorship seat within  the People's Democratic Party, PDP, he is now strongly hopeful that 2023 will be a new history in the direction of victory.

Politically motivated image denting accusations were  orchestrated to lower the sight of the ever determined Gbagi. Fortunately, the ploy fortified his determination to neutralize the subtle opposition.

Deltans could be sure that Gbagi have the stamina that equals his proposed rivals; he is still standing firm in the race to the Delta State Government House 2023.

In the face of diverse interest from the various Senatorial districts, the Urhobo factor, Delta Central and the Ijaws should remember that governance is not politics but applications of credentials, administrative experience and leadership capacity.

Despite the attempts of  powerful and active politicians to make calculations and misappropriations of powers, the fact remains that none of these politicians own Delta State and its political space. Deltans will decide from the stages of primaries at the party levels to the gladiatorial political battle ground. They will determine if Delta state will be great again and Kenneth Gbagi insist that Delta State should be great again. 

In 2023, anyone could become the Governor of the state. An ethnic minority son of a fisherman from the creeks can emerge if he or she possesses the social capital, good policy points to persuade Deltan's on the best course of action for re-industrializing the state for better economic opportunities.

Records has shown that the Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo Agege and the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in the 2019 Delta polls; Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru and other prominent politicians are also waiting anxiously for the 2023 Delta state Governorship Election.

Figuratively, the politicians will be the goods, the parties will be the sellers and Deltan's in general will be the target market, and the people will decide the best product.
