COMRADE MULADE CONGRATULATES GOVERNOR OKOWA ON FG APPROVAL OF UNIVERSITIES ..

...Appeals For Transfer of School of Marine Technology, Burutu to Ministry of Higher Education*

A Delta-born educationist and human rights advocate, Comrade (Chief) Mulade Sheriff has congratulated Delta State Governor, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa for this historical achievement and for making Delta to be the leading state with highest number of  universities in Nigeria.

We are proud of your educational strides to give every Deltans and others the opportunity to acquire quality education.

Chief Mulade, a Peace Ambassador who is also the President of the Riverine Communities Development Forum of Nigeria, made this commendation in Asaba, the state capital, He expresses joy and happiness for this laudable achievement and equally appealed to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to kindly consider the transfer of the School of Marine Technology, Burutu to the Higher Education Ministry to enable it being manage and run by professional academics for the betterment of students, Deltans and to give sense of belonging to the riverine dwellers in the State.

The rights activist re-emphasised that the School of Marine Technology, Burutu, had been attached to the Ministry of Transport, since it establishment, indicating that it was meant to train youths in crash programmes only, instead of a full fledged Degree and Diploma awarding institution, such as those in  universities and polytechnics respectively.

According to Mulade, in tertiary education, a professional certificate is quite different from an academic certificate. He therefore, on behalf of riverine communities in Delta State, appealed to, and requested Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to transfer the School of Marine Technology, Burutu, to the Ministry of Higher Education so that academic experts could run and manage it towards achieving set goals.

He also appealed to the State Governor. Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa to consider the riverine communities in his educational pursuits. It will interest you to note that there is no single higher institution in the coastal communities/Riverine LGA's of the State. Therefore, I want to strongly appealed to the State Government to consider setting up campuses of the State universities particularly, Delta State University, Abraka, now that Anwai campus as being converted to a University and any of the other university campuses in the riverine communities,  to give them sense of belonging  and beneficiaries of His Excellency, Sen Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa educational development and advancement in the State.

Olu Of Warri Defends Tradition, Speaks on Christianity

Olu Of Warri Defends Tradition, Speaks on Christianity  The Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ã’gíamẹ̀ Atúwàtse III, has dispelled the insinuation that there is a conflict between the traditional thrones and Christendom. The monarch, who stated this when he received the Soun of Ogbomoso land, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III, in his Palace in Warri Kingdom, Delta State, said that the two institutions were not necessarily antithetical. He also debunked the assumption that traditional institutions were synonymous with fetishism and the worship of creations made by human beings and reasoning. He, however, noted that the two institutions can play complementary role that will contribute to the growth and development of the country. The Olu, who said he was elated by the Soun’s visit, said the new Ogbomoso monarch’s choice of Warri kingdom as his first place of visit was divinely directed, just as his choice for the throne was divinely ordained. He said that they owe i

Many Benefited as Tantita Save Niger Delta From Enviromental Ruins  It is on record over the past twenty years in the Niger Delta region, South-South Nigeria where incessant fire disaster and untimely death was on the increase in weekly basis as result of the activities of illegal oil bunkering, especially the process of local refining popularly known as Kpo-Fire. The menace also renders our young married ladies widows in the ljaw riverine communities because most of their life partners venture into the Kpo-Fire business due to its lucrative nature in making quick money. To proof your doubt, take a tour to any of the ljaw riverine communities across Burutu, Warri South-West, Bomadi, Patani in Delta State, and Southern ljaw, Ekeremor, Nembe and Brass LGAs in Bayelsa State, you will discovered that most of our youths are facially disfigured in parts of their body as result of severe fire accident incurred during cooking and burning (refining) of crude oil to kerosene, fuel and desiel for
