The Chairman, Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT Warri South LGA Delta State, Led by Comrade Ikuejawa Ishmeal has called on Delta South leaders to emulate Chief Sheriff Mulade as the man in the entire senatorial district who supports education.
He made the call on Wednesday in Warri durring the 5th Edition of Comrade Sheriff Mulade Quiz & Essay competition organised for riverine secondary schools in Warri South-West, Warri North and Warri South Local Government Areas in the State as Atuwatse II College emerged winner.
The competition was sponsored by the Centre for Peace & Environmental Justice, CEPEJ, in order to bring education more closer to the riverine communities.
Mulade In his speech during the competition, National Coordinator of Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, Comrade Sheriff Mulade, said during his early days in school, he found it very difficult to transport himself to the closest secondary school in the riverine communities.
He noted that uptill now, the government has not been able to provide the needed education in the riverine communities.
According to him,”that’s why we continue to talk and appeal to the federal and state governments to pay more attention to the riverine areas.
