Conflict Management: Minister Joins CEPEJ in Proffering Solutions

The Minister for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Solomon Dalung has joined the Center for Peace and Environmental Justice CEPEJ to Proffer a workable solution to problems confronting effective youth development across Nigeria.

In a visit to the Minister’s office in Abuja, a CEPEJ team led by its Corporate Communication and Advocacy Manager, Mrs Victoria Ajayi, provided a platform for conflict management and the productive engagement of youths across the nation towards achieving sustainable national growth and development.

The meeting between CEPEJ’s team and the Minister was aimed at creating the enabling environment and opportunity for youths to develop themselves in sports, through active involvement towards achieving a conflict-free Nigerian society..

Mrs. Ajayi noted that youth-related conflicts could be averted if the youths were engaged productively, describing youth development as key to national economic growth, since the youths form a reasonable proportion of the Nigerian population.

The Minister received the CEPEJ’s team warmly and affirmed his support for the NGO, particularly in the area of youths and sport development, as well as conflict management

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship.
