Bayelsa Life Pension Bill: Ijaw Leader Commends Bayelsa Governor for Declining Assent -

                   Comrade Sheriff Mulade, Ijaw Leader

Recall of Bayelsa law Lakers Now.... Mulade

An Ijaw leader, AMB. Comrade Sheriff Mulade has commended Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State for heeding public outcry to decline assent to the bill seeking life pension for state lawmakers as canvassed by the State House of Assembly.

While Speaking with journalist in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. Comrade Mulade noted that a bill that proposed a monthly pension of N100,000 for members while the Speaker and Deputy Speaker would be entitled to N500,000 and N200,000, respectively, was self serving, myopic, unconstitutional, subtle robbery, and anti Ijaw development.

He described as very unfortunate the alleged inability of Bayelsa State lawmakers to make laws that would attract growth and development to the State.

He lamented that while Bayelsa State faces myriads of economic challenges, with low internally generated revenue, its law makers are busy enacting anti people laws to enrich their pockets.

The Niger Delta activist called on Ijaw people in Bayelsa State to commence a process of recalling the legislators from the sensitive business of lawmaking, adding that selfish ambitions should not override the sense of service to the people who elected them.

He said lawmakers were expected to make laws that would promote growth and economic development, as well as influence government policies for the good of the people, saying that the life pension bill would portend an unfavourable political climate, the desperation to occupy political offices at all costs, and other selfish ambitions.

Amb. Mulade decried the alleged anti Ijaw development disposition of the law makers and declared them unfit to contest the 2023 general elections, describing them as unreliable political businessmen and women.

Olu Of Warri Defends Tradition, Speaks on Christianity

Olu Of Warri Defends Tradition, Speaks on Christianity  The Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ã’gíamẹ̀ Atúwàtse III, has dispelled the insinuation that there is a conflict between the traditional thrones and Christendom. The monarch, who stated this when he received the Soun of Ogbomoso land, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III, in his Palace in Warri Kingdom, Delta State, said that the two institutions were not necessarily antithetical. He also debunked the assumption that traditional institutions were synonymous with fetishism and the worship of creations made by human beings and reasoning. He, however, noted that the two institutions can play complementary role that will contribute to the growth and development of the country. The Olu, who said he was elated by the Soun’s visit, said the new Ogbomoso monarch’s choice of Warri kingdom as his first place of visit was divinely directed, just as his choice for the throne was divinely ordained. Many Benefited as Tantita Save Niger Delta From Enviromental Ruins  It is on record over the past twenty years in the Niger Delta region, South-South Nigeria where incessant fire disaster and untimely death was on the increase in weekly basis as result of the activities of illegal oil bunkering, especially the process of local refining popularly known as Kpo-Fire.
