2019 POLL RESULTS: PEACE ADVOCATE ADVISES NIGERIANS TO CELEBRATE VICTORY IN NATIONAL UNITY

..... DESCRIBES POLITICS OF SENTIMENT AS BANE OF DEVELOPMENT

A Niger Delta based human rights and environment activisnt, Comrade Sheriff Mulade has called on Nigerians particularly politicians to rejoice and celebrate victory with others irrespective of party affiliations so as to strengthen and deepen our democracy. He noted that political parties are just platforms for electing public officers or vehicles that convey candidates to public offices. Comrade Sheriff Mulade was speaking in Abuja at an interactive forum with newsmen.

The Peace and Environment activist  said Nigeria can grow and progress politically, socially and economically only if Nigerians practice the politics of tolerance, as well as accommodate, accept and support one another, notwithstanding their party differences.

He advised stakeholders to focus on "Project Nigeria" as the great development vision of the country, with the shared determination to grow and make progress on a sustainable basis. He charged Nigerians to rise above selfish and ethnic politics, and become broad-minded and patriotic towards attracting development and progress into Nigeria.

Comrade Mulade who is National Coordinator of Center for Peace and Environmental Justice,  CEPEJ, urged politicians and their supporters to celebrate their election victories in a manner that will help to strengthen the nation's democracy, and not to humiliate those who lost at the polls or ridicule their parties.

In Mulade's opinion, the outcome of the election showed that Nigeria democracy is improving. He therefore called on non governmental organizations and civil society groups to intensify their efforts in  sensitizing Nigerians on the need to embrace peace and violence free elections.

He urged Nigerians to celebrate the peaceful outcome of the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections in the country, despite some pockets of challenges across the country.

He charged President Muhammadu Buhari to run an all-inclusive government where all parties would be opportuned to  contribute their quotas to the socio-economic development and growth of Nigeria.

Olu Of Warri Defends Tradition, Speaks on Christianity  The Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ã’gíamẹ̀ Atúwàtse III, has dispelled the insinuation that there is a conflict between the traditional thrones and Christendom. The monarch, who stated this when he received the Soun of Ogbomoso land, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III, in his Palace in Warri Kingdom, Delta State, said that the two institutions were not necessarily antithetical. He also debunked the assumption that traditional institutions were synonymous with fetishism and the worship of creations made by human beings and reasoning. Many Benefited as Tantita Save Niger Delta From Enviromental Ruins  It is on record over the past twenty years in the Niger Delta region, South-South Nigeria where incessant fire disaster and untimely death was on the increase in weekly basis as result of the activities of illegal oil bunkering, especially the process of local refining popularly known as Kpo-Fire.
