TENSION LOOMS IN NIGER DELTA AS MILITANTS GETS WAKEUP CALL


 ASARI, ATEKE, TOMPOLO, DAGOGO JACK, OTHERS URGED TO JOIN STRUGGLE 








Tension looms in the Niger Delta over what was described as humiliating treatment of Ex Niger Delta Militant leader, ASARI DOKUBO In Rivers State, Nigeria.

FocalPoint was informed that Nigerian security, military personal also besieged the resident of Ateke Tom last week necessitating IJaw youths to resist the Nigerian Army who went with many trucks into Degema to arrest Asari Dokubo.


 A front line activist, the spokes person of Ijaw Peoples Development Initiative (IPDI), Comr. Daniel Ezekiel recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari came for Tompolo immediately he assumed office, Asari Dokubo, Ateke Tom, Boyloaf,  Dagogo Jack,  Africa,  Ogunboss, Shoot sight  e.t.c did not only  turned their back on him, they became  informants to security agencies given them assurance that they will demystify Tompolo  and hand him over to FG.

In a statement released to FocalPoint, Ezekiel Daniel said "It seems that there is an agenda which is to forcefully take over Niger Delta oil,  the only ethnic group who could stop the plot to totally subjugate every ethnic groups in the country are the IJaws.  Knowing Tompolo's history, the government decided to go after him being the catalyst of the struggle. Our brothers  failed to see beyond that moment".

 "Last week Ateke Tom palace was attacked,  while Dagogo Farah' home town,  Abonnema was turned into a battle zone with 30 of our youths sent to their early graves. Now they are   facing  Asari for annihilation.  It is clear that Buhari have hidden agenda against our region, especially Ijaws in particular,  which if we all fail   to see the looming danger coming from this government, may it not be too late for Ijaw land because Gen. Buhari shall spare nobody in his onslaught, the earlier these guys comes back to their senses and embrace the struggle the better for them".

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship. The aggrieved retired police officers also wrote a Save Our Soul (SOS) letter to the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, calling for an urgent intervention.
