Police stray bullet kills boy watching Premier League match in Lagos Tragedy struck today on Olu Aboderin Street, Onipetesi, Lagos State, Sunday evening as one of the bullets fired by some operatives of the anti-cultism unit of Lagos State police command hit a boy watching a Premier League match between Liverpool and Tottenham. An eyewitness simply identified as Emenike said the officers came to the area to arrest a man wearing dreadlocks. Emenike alleged that the policemen started shooting sporadically after the arrest, only for one of the bullets to hit the boy who is yet to be identified. The victim was subsequently rushed to the general hospital in Ikeja, where he was confirmed dead.

Details of financial records published on the company’s website revealed that the national oil company repeatedly failed to meet projected profits as its subsidiaries, particularly refineries, running cost at the headquarters and other arms left whopping deficits. The corporation recorded N267.14b loss in 2015. The figure stood at N197b in 2016. Many feared dead, Children Missing, As Gas Explosion Hits Bayelsa communities A gas explosion from the Nembe Creek Trunk Line operated by the Aiteo Eastern Exploration and Production Company has caused panic among indigenes of seven communities of Nembe in Nembe Local Government Area of the Bayelsa State. The explosion, which occurred at about 4am near Oil Well 7 on Friday, sacked indigenes of the affected communities and many are reported missing, including women and children. A source said the incident had shut down the Nembe Creek Trunk Line (NCTL) for emergency repairs, after the detection of oil leakage. The Nembe communities affected include Nembe Creek 1, 2 and 3, Jalungo, Fatuo and Kalablomi. An indigene of the community identified as Patrick said the gas explosion has polluted the air and water in the area, and has adversely affected the fishing livelihood of the communities.
