NO FUNCTIONAL IYC PRESIDENT TO SPEAK FOR THE IJAWS, ERIC OMARE SHOULD BE MINDFUL.... Demebide

President of Ijaw Social Human Right Group,  Demebide Jerome has Called on the Nigerian Federal government, Security agencies to arrest any individual or group of persons with clandestine intent of disrupting the relative Peace in the Niger Delta region, using the name of Ijaw Youth Council, IYC.

Jerome Demebide in a statement made available to FocalPoint Reports on Wednesday, in Warri lampooned the Ijaw youth body for dragging supremacy contest into the current NDDC board appointments.

Demebide condemned the use of Ijaw name for selfish interest especially those misguidedly calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to sack the Minister of Niger Delta Affair, Godswill Akpabio for his forthright disposition towards probing the aged long mismanaged NDDC.

He said, "The Umbrella body of IYC does not have a president who speak for  the interest of Ijaw Youths for now, rather they are individuals concern with their own interest, they should both stay clear of NDDC board affairs".

The human right activist Called on President Mohammadu Buhari to revisit the two nominations from Delta State in the Niger Delta Development Commission to accommodate the Ijaws.

He also called on Barrister Eric Omare to abstained from using IYC umbrella to support Chief Bernard Okumagba and Prophet Jones Erue,

He said, "Eric Omare should be mindful because the APC Political leader's from Delta Central has deliberately denied Ijaw people appointment. When Otega Emerho Emerged as APC Leader  in Delta State, Ijaws were denied appointment in  NDDC and other positions.

"The Deputy Senate President, Obarisi Ovie Omagege has also mastermind  denial of the Ijaws in Delta state from NDDC Board appointment under the watch of the selfishly fractionated IYC".

"Omare should remember that it was Uhrobo and Isoko Nation that produces the immediate pass Board members and  we are having people thesame Uhrobo and Isoko Nation in the present NDDC list".

The Ijaw Social Human Right Group ISHRIG is calling on Mr President to use his good office to address this political injustice and deal decisively with saboteurs.
