Mayor Hollies J. Winston of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, and his wife, Latrice Winston, paid a visit on Tuesday to Hon. Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode, the Chairman of Udu Local Government Council in Delta State, Nigeria.
The purpose of their meeting was to explore opportunities for collaboration on development initiatives that would benefit both Brooklyn Park and Udu.
During their discussions at the Udu Local Government Council Secretariat, Mayor Winston emphasized the multicultural character of Brooklyn Park, which hosts a substantial Nigerian community along with residents from other West African nations.
He pointed out the presence of several Fortune 500 enterprises in Brooklyn Park, such as Cargill, General Mills, and Medtronic, and underscored the significance of establishing cooperative efforts between the two municipalities.
Chairman Oyibode voiced his support for joint projects that would be advantageous for both Brooklyn Park and Udu.
In response, Mayor Winston assured him that sharing insights and ideas would be integral to strengthening relations between their communities.
He also expressed appreciation to the members of Reconnecting the Great Diaspora (RGD) for facilitating this partnership and noted that there is great potential for growth in their collaboration.
