In a statement signed by the national president, Comrade Onoriode Umukoro on Tuesday, in Ughelli Delta State, the political activist stated that; "Other candidates have nothing to offer; they have no place of identity and recognition in the state".

"Gbagi of the social Democratic Party, SDP is the most visible private investor in Delta State, his manifesto and proposal for Deltans are tailored to the needs of Deltans. He is the only candidate who is talking about removing youths from the street of unemployment"

"He (Gbagi) is the only one talking about increasing the state’s GDP and ensuring security for everybody living in and around the state. Deltans should know better who their next governor is, Gbagi cannot be negotiated out".

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship. The aggrieved retired police officers also wrote a Save Our Soul (SOS) letter to the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, calling for an urgent intervention.
