2023: Candidates with Muslim-Muslim Ticket Should Withdraw from Presidential Race, Ex-Minister, Gbagi Blows Hot
The former Minister of State for Education, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, has warned against Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket by major political parties in the country.
Gbagi, Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in a statement to the media, on Tuesday, declared that dual Muslim tickets will not work in a country where diverse religious groups are stakeholders.
He, however, warned that political parties who undermine Christians in the forthcoming presidential election by running Muslim-Muslim ticket will meet stiffer resistance for working against the unity of the country.
The former Minister called on candidates with Muslim-Muslim ticket to withdraw from the presidential race, stating that no Christian in any region of the country will vote for a candidate with a Muslim-Muslim ticket.
