Delta Ijaw Youth Movement Suspends Planned Protest in Delta,
Commends Funkekeme Solomon for Prompt Mediation
The Ijaw political pressure group, Delta Ijaw Youth Movement
On Sunday suspended its planned protest slated to hold in Asaba Delta State November 10th and 11th.
This came as the Senior Political Adviser to the Governor, Hon. Funkekeme Solomon addresses the angry Ijaw youths, putting to rest the issues of neglect by the Delta State Government.
At the meeting between the group leaders,
Comrade Okporu Augustine,
Birinumughan Jesse A.k.a general 90 and Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, the group resolved to Shield their Sword. They expressed readiness to work with Sen. Dr Ifeanyi Okowa to move the state to an enviable height.
The group also appealed to Governor Okowa to critically look into their concerns by ensuring that the issues of marginalization are addressed.
However, Hon. Funkekeme Solomon who calmed the nerves of the angry youths assured that Delta Ijaw youths are partners in progress with the governor and Governor Okowa's administration will continue to partner with youths as all in the state will benefit from Okowa's all-inclusive government.
They commended Hon Funkekeme Solomon for giving them needed attention and addressing their concerns, adding that the meeting has yielded the desired results and the planned protest has been called off.
