Ijaw Youths Threatens Another Shut Down of Oil Companies in Delta


Ijaw youths from the oil rich Egbema kingdom, Warri North local government Area of Delta state, yesterday issued another threat to shutdown NPDC, Elecres Nig, Chrome oil, Chevron Nigeria limited and other multinational oil companies, operating in their domain

In a press release sent to. FocalPoint Reports disclosed that the Warri North Ijaws are ready to shut down 
 the oloduwa Creeks of opuama/polobubo Egbema kingdom, has what they termed continuous  depravations, encumbrances, unjust  and cruel marginalization of the hapless people of polobubo and opuama communities.

The statement reads;
Enough is enough as Gen, Silas Toruwei and is team blows hot, vows to shutdown NPDC, Elecres Nig, Chrome oil, Chevron Nigeria limited and other multinational companies, operating in the oloduwa Creeks of opuama/polobubo as what they termed continuous marginalization, burdensome and oppression of polobubo and opuama communities in Egbema kingdom. 

1 How can this heavy companies especially NPDC operating in our communities, have not been pay salaries for eight (8) months, for the casually workers,

2. NPDC, Chevron and others multinational companies refuse to  employ the host communities graduate's,

3. Since the inception of the covid-19 pandemic NPDC didn't even care to give palliatives to the host communities they have been benefiting from this years.

4. chevron Nigeria limited is calling polobubo/ Opuama host communities fool. CNL is operating in shalton 1 without land lesing agreement fees and MOU where is that been done in the world and CNL should know their MOU with Egbema Gbaramatu Communities development foundation  (EGCDF) did not cover shalton1 operation. We are telling them to leave our territory now let fresh foreign investors come in. 

Gen Silas and his team reiterated that, they're determined to follow through a part of shutting down all oil and gas operation in their homeland following the alleged unacceptable level of oppression, relegation, marginalization, unemployment, suppression and deprivation wrath on them by oil companies and bad leadership of our people in government, subsequently our intention will be made known as a people, few hours from today.

Same veins Gen Toruwei disclosed that,  Egbema kingdom have many flow stations and oil installations, whereby aforementioned multinational oil companies extract crude oil for decades,   including Opuama flow station, Opuekeba oil field, Dibi field, Dabiotubu field and lots of others in Egbema, yet, development is far from us, he stated

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship.
