This is to inform the general public that CEPEJ is set to commence a Peace walk Initiative in Connection with the 2019 General Elections.*

The Center for Peace and Environmental Justice CEPEJ is a non governmental organisation, non profit making and non religious organization established to promote peace, effective security, human right and environmental Justice as concluded plans to embark on a peace Walk in Delta State ahead of the 2019 general elections.

The purpose is to call for a peaceful, free and fair polls that will guarantee lives and property devoid of interference, intimidation and harassment  from electoral umpire, security operatives, it is a call to build on zero politically connected and instigated violence across Nigeria particularly Delta State. As the 2019 general election draws near.

CEPEJ said there is need to call for a level playing ground in the elections and raise aloud its call and advocacy for peace.

It is also a call on security operatives to contribute to peaceful exercise by upholding their roles in ensuring that they are not used by  politcians, political parties and those with interest to disrupt the peaceful foundation laid as exemplified in the 2015 presidential elections.

Peace in the 2019 general  elections is a must at all levels. Peace is beneficial to all, Peace means Sucess, Peace means freedom, Peace means good life, Peace means development, peace is all we need.

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship. The aggrieved retired police officers also wrote a Save Our Soul (SOS) letter to the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, calling for an urgent intervention.
