Buhari Wins Niger With 612,371 votes President Muhammadu Buhari, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Saturday’s presidential elections, has scored 612,371 votes in Niger. Prof. Anjela Mary, the State Collation Officer for the Presidential election, announced this at the INEC headquarters in Minna on Monday. Mary, who is the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Lokoja, said Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored 218,052 votes. She said the total number of registered voters was 2,375,568 while the total number of accredited voters was 911,964 The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has applauded President Muhammadu Buhari for agreeing to… Mary added that the number of valid votes was 851,937 while 45,039 votes were rejected. Mohammed, a lecturer at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, stated this while presenting the results of the LGA at the Kaduna State INEC office on Monday. The Collation Officer said findings by him revealed that the presiding officer took the decision in order to protest non payment of his allowances. He, however, added that he had given details of the presiding officer to the security agencies for necessary investigations. “We later gathered that the young man said he took the decision in order to protest the non payment of his allowances by INEC.” Meanwhile, the results announced by Mohammed showed that APC polled 33,786 in the LGA, while the PDP scored 8,206.

Oil Price Hits $67.14 Amid OPEC Cuts Oil prices at the weekend hovered close to 2019 highs at $67.14, boosted by OPEC-led supply cuts and US sanctions on Venezuela and Iran, but was prevented from rising further by slowing growth in the global economy. China to launch 'the world's first 5G railway station' with Huawei technology

China set to launch what it bills as 'the world's first 5G railway station' this year with the technology from Huawei. The news comes as the tech firm is blocked and scrutinised by the West over fears that it is spying on its users for Beijing. A 'super-fast' 5G network will be fitted to the existing Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station, which is one of Asia's busiest traffic hubs and handles some 60 million passengers a year. so-called '5G digital indoor system' is due to be fully installed in the train station in western Shanghai by September.  A few 'experience spots' have already been set up in the station's waiting hall to let passengers try the network.  The system is developed by Huawei and was unveiled in Shanghai today. It has been chosen to serve the traffic hub by China Mobile, a state-owned telecommunication corporation.

Maj. General David Ejoor Is Dead Chief of Army Staff and Military Governor for the Mid-Western Group of Provinces, Major General David Akpode Ejoor is dead. Our source from BigPen online  learnt that the former governor died at undisclosed hospital in Lagos Sunday afternoon. A family source who refused to give details confirmed his death in a telephone conversation Sunday evening.
